DISC GOLF AT FPYC ?
This is an idea that's been thrown around (see what I did there), for quite some time. Trevor Thomas and I went round and round with how a course could be laid out and we took our idea to the point of manufacturing two home-made disc-catchers. That's the Disc Golf pin into which one aims to putt their disc (pictured above).
Last year, Ryan and Cady Smith were up for Second Family and the Disc Golf idea got a new driver. Ryan planned out a course of 12 or 13 holes. The course could use existing area without requiring any additional, on-going mowing or up-keep - something we don't want to add to Randy's big plate of responsibilities. The pins and tee-box locations could be movable so they could be stored in the off-season and not get in the way of other sports activities (or lawn mowers) in-season.
We'd need to raise some funds to purchase disc-catcher pins or build them ourselves. What do you think? This something you could get into? Anyone game to make this happen? Ryan and Cady and I would love to hear your thoughts. Let's get a conversation started on Facebook, Join the FPYC group - let's go throw!
